Nitish Kumar blames the Opposition for politicising the issue of toddy. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, in a bid to clarify his stand on the issue of prohibition on toddy, said the state government was following 1991 guidelines which prevent the sale of toddy near places like educational institutions and other important public places.
Nitish Kumar, while mounting an attack on the Opposition for their allegation against the grand secular alliance for targeting the Pasi community by enforcing ban on toddy in Bihar, said, “Few people are trying to provoke the Pasi community in the name of toddy, and those who are doing this have never stood up for them in the past. They are just doing it because they want to politicise the issue.
The chief minister, in a bid to clarify the state government’s stand further on the issue of prohibition on toddy in Bihar, said, “The state government is following 1991 guidelines which strictly prohibits sale of toddy within 50 meters of schools or colleges and other important public places.”
