‘India wants refund for choosing Modi’

Continuing his tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi here on Saturday accused that his government has failed to deliver the promises made in his high-voltage marketing blitz campaign during the Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing an election rally in poll-bound central Assam’s Nagaon, Mr Gandhi said, “I have a friend. He needed a computer. So he looked up on the Internet. He found a company with great photos, with many things said about the brand. So he gave an order. A packet arrived. He got it home. But when he opened the box there was a piece of wood inside. He has been asking for a refund since then.”
Equating his narration with the promises of the Prime Minister, he said, “This is what exactly happened to India. Modiji came on a blitz of marketing but there was no product. Till today India is asking for a refund.”
Launching a frontal attack on the BJP over the jat quota agitation which turned violent, Mr Gandhi said, “Haryana, which was progressing under the Congress, was up in flames after the BJP came to power.”
Earlier, Mr Gandhi, along with his supporters, joined a padyatra from Shaheed Bhavan Chowk in Nagaon, which concluded at the venue where he addressed the rally.
Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi and his senior Cabinet colleagues accompanied Mr Gandhi.
Mr Gandhi also repeated his “fair and lovely” jibe at the Prime Minister, saying that instead of bringing back black money, Mr Modi was helping thieves. In hard-hitting remarks, he said, “You speak well, you give good speeches but you are hollow inside.”
Mr Gandhi on Saturday concluded his two-days long campaign in Assam, which is due to vote for its Assembly elections in two phases on April 4 and April 11.
