NRI student ragged in Bengal college

An NRI student was allegedly ragged and severely beaten up by his seniors at an educational institute in the city on Thursday. The student Ricky Das from Birmingham UK studies at Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) at Salt Lake. He accused 10 seniors of harassing and slapping him inside the campus at regular intervals after his arrival at the institute three weeks ago. The atrocity reached its peak on Thursday when the second-year students allegedly launched a violent attack on Ricky with bricks and rods. He was rushed to a private nursing home in Salt Lake where he received five stitches on his head. After the initial treatment, he went to Electronics Com-plex police station and lodged a complaint against his seniors with the help of a college professor.
