Mamata Banerjee 'speed breaker' in path of development: PM in Bengal

Siliguri: Taking a sharp dig at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called her the “speed breaker” in the path of development.

Addressing crowd in West Bengal’s Siliguri, PM Modi said, “There is a speed breaker in West Bengal, who you know by the name of 'Didi'. This 'Didi' is the speed breaker of your development."
Alleging that Banerjee does not care about the poor, Modi said, “If poverty is removed, her politics will end. The same is true for the CPI(M).”
PM Modi also lashed out at TMC supremo for pulling out of the Ayushman Bharat insurance project.
Modi will address another rally in Kolkata later this afternoon.
Mamata Banerjee had altered her campaign schedule, bringing it forward by a day so she could respond to PM Modi’s attacks.

The timing has been coordinated so that Banerjee can begin as soon as PM Modi finishes his address in Kolkata.
