Ahmedabad: Cyclone Ockhi barrelled towards the Gujarat coast on Tuesday, forcing several political bigwigs, including BJP chief Amit Shah and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, to cancel their rallies in the poll-bound state.

Mr Shah’s poll rallies in Rajula town of Amreli and Mahuva and Shihor of Bhavnagar district were cancelled.

The BJP also called off rallies and press conferences of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje in Surat, a party leader said.
