New Delhi: A parliamentary panel probing the breach in Parliament security has recommended suspension of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant Mann for the rest of the Winter Session as it said that a thorough review of the security implications of the incident be examined by a joint parliamentary committee on security.

Mr Mann had already been barred from attending the House by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan from the last session when the incident surfaced.

The nine-member panel in its report said that the conduct of Mr Mann, who had landed in a controversy in July after live-streaming from Parliament House on social media, was highly objectionable and “exhibits him bereft of basic knowledge and etiquettes and responsibilities of the office which he holds. By his improper conduct, Mr Mann has put the security of the Parliament House and its occupants at risk.”

“The committee therefore, after due deliberations, recommends that MP Bhagwant Mann may be suspended for the remaining period of the current session,” the panel, headed by BJP

MP Kirit Somaiya, said in the report submitted in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
