BJP says no to leaders from other parties in UP
The decision has apparently been taken after a recent tug-of-war between party MPs and the state organisation.
Lucknow: The BJP in UP has put a ban on the joining of leaders from other parties through its MPs, MLAs and other leaders.
Ever since the Yogi Adityanath government came to power, there have been instances of leaders from other parties making a beeline to join the BJP through legislators and Parliamentarians.
The decision has apparently been taken after a recent tug-of-war between party MPs and the state organisation.
BJP organising secretary Sunil Bansal had also asked party office bearers not to let people into the party without following the prescribed procedure.
BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said, “Only the party high command can do that, and those who wish to join the BJP can give a missed call at the designated number and wait for the process to be completed before they are made members.”
