MP: BJP meet over change of state prez?
BJP leaders held closed-door confabulations reportedly on the matter here prior to the core group meeting.
Bhopal: The core group of BJP in Madhya Pradesh met here on Tuesday amid speculation of change of state party president Nand Kumar Chouhan.
Giving further credence to such talks making round in the party for long, three senior BJP leaders held closed-door confabulations reportedly on the matter here prior to the core group meeting.
Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, BJP national vice-president Prabhat Jha and party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya held discussions reportedly on the issue before proceeding to the party meeting, a senior BJP leader told this newspaper unwilling to be quoted. “Several names to replace the incumbent party president of the state have been discussed in meeting of the trio”, the BJP leader confirmed. Sources said the RSS had earlier expressed concern over style of functioning of the state party president and lodged acomplaint to the party’s leadership that he was acting as a “chief minister’s loyalist” rather than an organisational man.
