2 BJP MPs raise banner of revolt, file Lok Sabha nominations

Bhopal: Two sitting BJP MPs in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday filed nominations for their respective constituencies in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, dealing a jolt the party.

Gyan Singh and Badh Singh Bhagat, sitting MPs from Shahdol and Balaghat seats respectively, turned rebels. Both of them filed nomination as independent candidates after being denied party ticket this time.

Similarly, former BJP MLA R.D. Prajapati was also lobbying for ticket from Samajwadi Party (SP) to contest from Tikamgarh Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP leadership however was trying to pacify the rebels to withdraw their nominations.

MP is going to LS polls in four phases during April 29 to May 19.
