BJP to give political touch to Diwali
The BJP wants to ensure that it reaches out to all sections of society and makes them feel wanted .
Lucknow: With the election season all set to kick in with the municipal elections, Diwali, this year, is being turned into a major political event.
The festival will now be used by the BJP to remind people about the achievements of the Modi government and also how the Yogi Adityanath government is taking the work forward. The various frontal organisations will reach out to traders before Diwali and tell them how the recent amendments in GST have ushered in a joyous festival for them.
The idea is to assuage the feelings of the traders who have been upset with the introduction of GST. Villages that have been electrified after the advent of the Modi government will be the focus of celebrations by the Bhartiya Yuva Janata Morcha.
In each of these villages, the yuva morcha will organise five events called “Vikas Jyoti Utsav”, for celebrating Diwali. BJP banners, posters and flags will be put up in these villages and in the evenings, Diwlai puja will be held at the community level.
Subrat Pathak, state pre-sident of BJP yuva morcha, said that since power supply has reached these villages after 70 years of Independence, 70 “diyas” will be lit in each village.
Efforts will be made to make the even all inclusive and bring all castes and community together for the celebration on Diwali. The BJP wants to ensure that it reaches out to all sections of society and makes them feel “wanted”.
BJP workers have been asked to ensure that the people do not use Chinese crackers at these events. BJP workers will link the issue with patriotism and used indigenously made crackers on Diwali. Local MPs, MLAs and senior leaders have been asked to remain present at the events.
