Lucknow: Still waters run deep and the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh is a perfect example of this.

After SP claimed that all issues had been resolved in the family and the factional wars had ended, supporters of Mr Shivpal Singh Yadav have gone ahead an announced the formation of a “Shivpal Singh Secular Morcha”.

The announcement of the Morcha comes after reports that Mr Shivpal Singh Yadav remains sidelined in the party even after the much publicized truce.

Mr Shivpal Yadav has not been given any post in the party and neither have his supporters been accommodated back into the party organisation.

Mr Akhilesh Yadav and Mr Shivpal Yadav have also been studiously avoided sharing a platform in the party and the two have not visited each other since the war began unfolding in August 2016 and came to fore in January 2017 when Mr Akhilesh Yadav staged a coup of sorts and became party president.

Dr Magroob Tyagi, one of those who have launched the new Morcha, said that the state committee would be constituted after Eid and the organizational units at division, assembly, district and block level would be set up after that.
