Potato humour makes Yogi Adityanath laugh
As the entire House burst into laughter, the chief minister, for the first time, was also seen laughing uncontrollably.
Lucknow: The state Assembly, including chief minister Yogi Adityanath, had a laugh after Uttar Pradesh minister for environment Dara Singh Chauhan claimed that the bumper potato crop in the state was due to Yogi coming to power.
The minister was replying to a question of potato production and storage when he made this comment.
“I can say that potato production increased with the arrival of the Yogi government in the state and there is no doubt about this,” he said, replying to a question put up by SP member Nitin Agarwal.
As the entire House burst into laughter, the chief minister, for the first time, was also seen laughing uncontrollably.
SP member Shailendra Yadav, however, found the reply absurd and claimed that out of the 325 legislators of the BJP and Apna Dal, 200 were turncoats who shifted loyalties during polls and such persons were giving absurd replies.
In his reply later, the minister said that there were 1,708 cold storages in UP having a capacity of 130.26 lakh MT which could accommodate 84 per cent of the potato produced.
