Lucknow: In an interview to The Hindu newspaper, Congress president Rahul Gandhi did not either confirm or deny the possibility of his sister Priyanka Gandhi taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi. He said, “I will leave you in suspense. Suspense is not always a bad thing”.

During an interaction with party workers in Raebareli, Sonia Gandhi’s constituency, Priyanka steered speculation about contesting polls. When the workers urged her to fight from the Raebareli, Priyanka asked “Why not Varanasi?”

The statement came a day after when Priyanka said she was ready to contest elections. She said, “If my party wants me to contest polls then I will definitely do so”.

Ever since Priyanka dropped a hint during the Ganga boat campaign, there has been buzz about PM Modi vs Priyanka Gandhi fight for contesting elections in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi.
