Gwalior: Congress general secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia Friday termed the Bhopal Lok Sabha contest between colleague Digvijaya Singh and BJP's Pragya Singh Thakur as a fight between two ideologies.

He was responding to a query on Thakur, an accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, earlier claiming that her fight with Singh, a strident critic of the Sangh Parivar, was a "dharm yudh". "The contest between our senior leader Digvijaya Singh and BJP candidate Pragya Singh Thakur for Bhopal Lok Sabha seat is a fight between two ideologies. It is not a dharm yudh. It is a fight between two ideologies in which the truth and the Congress will triumph," Scindia said. "This is a fight between a handful of people in suit- boot (well to do) and the public," the Guna MP said.

He refused to comment further on Thakur or the charges she was facing in the Malegaon blast case, citing that the matter was sub judice. Scindia will be filing his nomination for the Guna Lok Sabha seat on Saturday.
