Apply same formula for captain': Akhilesh on BJP denying tickets to MPs
In a tweet, Yadav said, 'Why is the ruling party not giving tickets to most of its MPs again? It means they have failed.'
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday took a jibe at BJP for not giving Lok Sabha election tickets to several sitting members of Parliament.
In a tweet, Yadav said, “Why is the ruling party not giving tickets to most of its MPs again? It means they have failed.”
Attacking Modi, he said, “The formula applied to the team should also apply to the captain.”
However, the BJP has not released any list of candidates for the upcoming national elections. It is likely to announce the names of party’s candidates in various states for the elections on Wednesday.

BJP has formed alliances in several states, especially Tamil Nadu and Bihar, hoping to come back to power.
On Tuesday, the BJP said it would drop all 10 incumbent MPs in Chhattisgarh and replace them with new faces in the Lok Sabha polls. BJP general secretary Anil Jain said the decision was taken to add "new zeal" to the party.
Akhilesh Yadav’s SP has made an alliance pact with Mayawati’s BSP and Ajit Singh’s RLD for the polls.
Under the seat-sharing formula, the BSP will contest 38 seats, SP 37 seats and RLD 3 seats from Uttar Pradesh.
