BIJEPUR: Rajashree Kamila, the woman who was recently released from jail after being arrested for hurling eggs at Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik during a public meeting at Balasore is seen pulling large crowds during campaigning with top BJP leaders in Bijepur Assembly bypolls.

Ms Kamila, wife of a BJP activist Dillip Kamila, was allegedly misbehaved by BJD workers and police after she threw two eggs at the CM protesting preventive arrest of her husband before the public meeting.

“I just threw eggs at the CM’s podium, not at him as it is alleged by the BJD workers and police, - to register my protest against my husband’s arrest. Does anybody die in egg attack? Unfortunately, the police at the behest of the CM, slapped attempt to murder charge against me. The BJD workers and male policemen present at the meeting venue misbehaved with me and literally stripped me in full public view. In jail, I was administered poisonous injections by the police,” Rajashree alleged in almost all the meetings she addressed with the party’s leaders, including Dharmendra Pradhan and Smriti Irani.

“Don’t you think the kind of treatment I was meted out was nothing less that the traumatic experience Drapaudi, the wife of Pandavas, was forced to undergo in Kuru Sabha? Don’t you think such an administration should be punished?” she would ask ostensibly to revoke replies from the crowd in affirmative to strike an emotional chord with them.

The woman’s husband is accompanying her to every meeting carrying their 10-month-old child.

She does not forget to mention to the crowd how she felt completely devastated after being detached from her child by the police following his arrest.
