Yogi's white paper just a bundle of lies, says Akhilesh Yadav
BSP president Mayawati said in a statement that the white paper was an attempt to cover up the inadequacies of the government.
Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party have slammed the white paper released by the Yogi Adityanath government on completion of its six months in office and termed it as a bundle of ‘white lies’.
SP president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday termed the white paper “a bundle of lies” and said the government had nothing to offer to the people and was trying to fool everyone with the white paper.
“Yogi is not competent to run the government. If I am asked to perform religious rituals, I will not be able to do it. Similarly, Yogi is a monk and can do religious work better than governance,” he said.
In an indirect reference to the tug of war between the chief minister and his deputy K.P. Maurya, Mr Yadav described the BJP government as being propelled by two engines.
BSP president Mayawati said in a statement that the white paper was an attempt to cover up the inadequacies of the government.
“The Yogi government is trying to blame the previous governments for all its failures. The people want to know how long this blame game will continue,” she said.
The SP chief said the Yogi government had actually made a mockery of farmers in the name of its loan waiver scheme. “The government has waived off loans as miniscule as one rupee. How is this going to help farmers?” he asked.
He also took a dig at the Gorakhpur tragedy in which over 60 children died due to the acute shortage of oxygen supply at the BRD Medical College and blamed the state government of being overly ignorant, which, he said, led to the death of innocent children.
“The tragedy happened because of the negligence of the BJP government in the state. How could a hospital that was reviewed just four days back allow deaths due to the shortage of oxygen cylinders? The incident has exposed the poor medical system of the state under the BJP regime,” said the SP chief.
He added the Yogi government was taking credit for the work done during his regime, which included the Lucknow Metro.
Ms Mayawati, one the other hand, said the Yogi government had no achievements of its own to flaunt before the people and was trying to divert attention from its own failures.
She also questioned if criminals of a particular community and religion were being targeted to be shot dead in police encounters. The UP government has claimed to have killed 18 persons of which a majority is Muslims. Both the leaders also slammed the Yogi government for the prevailing power crisis in the state.
