Patna: Sushil Kumar Modi claimed that RJD chief Lalu Yadav was involved in a scam worth Rs 1,000 crore on Saturday. “More documents related to the land scam is likely to surface in the coming days,” he said.

As per documents, Lalu Yadav’s family owns a four storied flat worth Rs 115 crore in New Delhi’s posh locality New Friends Colony. Mr Modi said five Mumbai-based Diamond Companies — Alka Diamond industries, Real Gold Trading Pvt Ltd, Hema Trading Pvt Ltd and Yash Jewellers had issued interest-free loans to AB Exports Pvt Ltd — for purchasing a plot.

“We fail to understand why these five diamond companies gave interest-free loans to the company,” he said. The allegations were made a day after Bihar chief secretary Anjani Kumar gave a clean chit to Lalu Yadav and his family in a soil purchase scam. The state government had ordered an internal probe into the allegations a week ago. “No irregularities were found during the probe in a soil purchase deal”, Bihar chief secretary Anjani Kumar said.

BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi had raised the issue of soil purchase scam worth Rs 90 lakh on April 4 and had also demanded sacking of forest and environment minister Tej Pratap Yadav. When asked whether he was satisfied with soil purchase scam probe reports, Mr Modi said that “we started with soil scam and now we have found several other scams. A probe will reveal more facts about the takeover and business deals by these shell companies.” According to Sushil Kumar Modi, AB Exports was used only for acquiring “benami” property just like two other shell companies A K Infosystem and Delight Marketing Pvt Ltd. He further claimed that Bihar deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav is the first owner of the company with a 98 per cent share.
