Doors shut for Jogi in Congress'
Congress does not take back a leader who leaves the party, he told reporters at Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
Bhopal: AICC general secretary in-charge of Chhattisgarh P.L. Puniya on Tuesday set at rest all speculations of former chief minister Ajit Jogi being taken back in the party, saying, “All doors of Congress are closed” for him. “Congress does not take back a leader who leaves the party,” he told reporters at Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
He was reacting to speculations making round the Congress circle for some time now that Mr Jogi, who floated his party, Chhattisgarh Janata Congress (J), after breaking away from Congress last year, was being re-inducted in the party. Mr Jogi quit the party to form his new party after his MLA son Amit was expelled from the party in connection with the alleged fixing of Antagarh assembly by-elections leading to victory of a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.
He, however, made it clear that Mr Jogi’s MLA wife Renu was in Congress and “will be in Congress”.
