Kaliabor: BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday slammed the Opposition and questioned whether India should throw bombs or hold talks with those who attack the soldiers and kill them.

“For 10 years, before NDA came to power, Congress did not take any action against the terrorists who kept on killing our jawans. However, we carried out a surgical strike after the Uri attack. Similarly, when the Pulwama terror attack took place, we destroyed a terror camp by air strike in Pakistan. The perception of the world about India has changed today because of Narendra Modi,” Shah said while addressing a rally here.

He added, “Earlier there were only two countries – US and Israel - which used to take revenge of attacks on their soldiers. Prime Minister Modi has now added India to that list. But, Rahul Gandhi and his allies raised questions as to why we are throwing bombs and not holding talks with Pakistan. Should we throw bombs or talk to those who kill our jawans?”

Shah promised that the NDA will throw out infiltrators from Assam if Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister again.

“The BJP has stopped the entry of infiltrators in Assam. If Prime Minister Narendra Modi comes to power again, we will throw out infiltrators from Assam one by one,” he said.

Accusing the Congress of having not done any work on Clause 6 of Assam Accord, Shah said that the BJP government has formed a committee which in a "few years time will work towards implementing the Clause 6" to preserve the linguistic identity, social, cultural and heritage of Assamese people.

Taking a dig at the Congress, he added, "While the previous government gave Rs 50,000 crore for development work in Assam, our government gave around Rs 3,00,000 crore. This is the difference between Narendra Modi and Manmohan Singh.”

The Lok Sabha election will be held in Assam on April 11, 18 and 23. The result will be announced on May 23.
