The BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi succeeded in his mission only on the backing of the RSS, which according to Congress insiders, was influenced by the corporate sector. It will be interesting to see who will influence the BJP nominees list in four states. Will it be chief ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Raman Singh, former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, BJP high command, Narendra Modi or the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. But the emergence of Mr Modi — RSS has pleased the Congress and non NDA parties. This will not only influence the campaign theme in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi polls but could help in creating a UPA 3 at the Centre, they feel. In Patna, Union minister Jairam Ramesh on Sunday said that the Congress would fight against the RSS and not the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections as the Sangh is now in control of the saffron party.
