With the Centre putting on hold the one-day ban on Hindi News channel NDTV India on November 9, the Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred its hearing till December 5 to enable the government to decide the issue. A bench of Justices A.K. Sikri and N.V. Ramana accepted the request of senior counsel Fali Nariman appearing for the channel that the matter be adjourned for four weeks.

Justice Sikri asked the counsel and Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, “What is there now. We have read in the newspapers that the ban is already put on hold.”

Both Mr Nariman and the AG confirmed the court that the ban had been put on hold.
