Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reported to have assured PDP president Mehbooba Mufti that the BJP will adhere to their “Agenda of the Alliance” strictly and that no one will be allowed to indulge in any behaviour or act that may subvert the guiding framework for governance of the coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP leadership has also, once again, acknowledged the PDP’s concern that fiddling with the state’s special status, guaranteed by Article 370 of the Constitution, by certain individuals associated with the Sangh Parivar and raising of contentious issues like state flag by some BJP lawmakers including then ministers have only caused embarrassment to its alliance partner in Kashmir Valley, sources in the PDP said.

The sources said that the PM asked Ms Mufti during their 30-minute meeting on Tuesday that she should keep him posted on politically sensitive issues and alert him if any attempts are made to cause shame or embarrassment to the PDP and its leadership.
