Define nationalism

I fail to understand the logic of those who are opposing the move of the Union human resources development ministry to hoist the national flag on Central university campuses. The tricolour is a symbol of nationalism. What has it got to do with politics or the JNU issue Had HRD minister Smriti Irani said that the RSS flag be hoisted, one could have vehemently opposed it. But those questioning the timing of the decision, or accusing the “BJP-led NDA government of reducing everything to the level of spectacle”, are not patriots and are doing a great disservice to the nation.
