We round up the most popular Instagram accounts and the people behind them, that capture Mumbai in a different light — everyday.

You may have a certain view of your city or a favourite image of it in mind, but every once in a while, a picture comes along that reintroduces you to your home. Some of the most popular Instagramers wield the power to do just that — and going by the number of their followers, you’d know that the power is high and mighty. We speak to these click-crazy bunch about their favourite frames across the city.

Devendra Kantilal, Hospitality Professional Account: My_Mumbai Followers: 72.9k I’m currently working in Dubai and the longing for Mumbai led to the genesis of My_Mumbai. I have curated about 1,061 pictures so far. Though we don’t believe in themes, we curate moments which capture the true essence of the city. We also aim to host meets, organise photo walks and develop a community of city lovers.

Gopal MS, Advertising Professional Account: Mumbaipaused Followers: 20.1k The Instagram account is the extension of my blog Mumbai Paused. Everyone is of the opinion that Mumbai is a city that never sleeps, is always on the run etc. I decided to capture the city that is always on the move and pause it with my frames. All the pictures on the page are clicked on my phone and sometimes on a camera that I carry. Every nook and corner of the city has its own charm and it’ll be difficult to select a favourite spot.

Raunak Rajani, Marketing Executive Account: Mumbaifoodie Followers: 115k I started Mumbai Foodie as my personal food bucket list and was posting pictures for my friends to see. I collected pictures from various places that I had visited, a few friends started contributing too and the network spiralled. The hashtag #mumbaifoodie has over 90 thousand pictures from across the city. The only objective now is to build user-generated content and tell people about the most sumptuous and delectable dishes the city has to offer.

Chirag Wakaskar, Photographer Account: EverydayMumbai Followers: 85.9k I’m a photographer and came across @EverydayAfrica on Instagram and that made me think of Instagram as a fantastic medium which had a wide reach for documentary and street photography. I select images from the #EverydayMumbai hashtag on the basis of their content and social relevance. Anyone can have their image shared on it be it a professional or a novice.
