He started his career on television as Inspector Hanuman Prasad Chaubey on F.I.R in 2006. His first film that gained him official recognition as an actor was Shaitan. But actor Shiv Pandit has come a long way since then. His next film, Boss, is not the only thing that is making him happy. The actor, who has also signed a three-film deal with co-star Akshay Kumar, says he was in awe of Akshay all through the shooting of Boss. “I have seen so many films of Akshay and Danny Denzongpa (who will also be seen in the film) that I couldn’t help but remember their characters in various films,” he says. He adds, “For the first six months we hardly spoke to each other in spite of playing the role of brothers onscreen. However, today we are pretty friendly. Akshay is extremely professional and humble as an actor,” he continues. Pandit will be seen romancing co-star Aditi Rao Hydari and even has a few intimate scenes with the actress. “Aditi has done a couple of films before and like me, she too has come to this city to pursue a dream. Her chirpy attitude makes working so much easier. After all who likes working with a grumpy person ” he asks. Tall, fair and extremely good- looking, Pandit who has several girls swooning over his hunky looks, describes himself as “really boring offscreen”. Having not had a filmi background, persistence was his sole battle gear. “I am a very ambitious person, though there was a time when I felt like giving up. I haven’t ever compromised on the quality of work by doing stuff for money,” he says. But with Shaitan having set his Bollywood career, Pandit believes he is on the right track now. The single-but-not-ready-to-mingle dude says, “I’m only married to my work for now.”
