She has been making the headlines quite regularly over the last few months. Lauren Gottlieb, who made her Bollywood debut with Remo D’Souza’s Any Body Can Dance (ABCD), is already being called the next Katrina Kaif of India. While she recently finished as a runner up in the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, she had expressed her wish to dance with Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan when the season 6 had just started. In less than four months, she not only got her dream realised but also won appreciation from her favourite Bollywood icons. After shaking a leg with Lauren, Hrithik even expressed his wish to be casted along with her in ABCD sequel. “You can’t get that much luckier in your life to have your favourite icons watch you dance and in reaction say that they wish to dance with you. And it was too much of Hrithik to say that he wanted to work with me in ABCD 2, right in front of the director. I was just too overwhelmed,” says Lauren. Though known mainly for her dancing skills in India Lauren, who has got formal training in acting, assures that she has got some big projects lined up. “Though I can’t reveal much about them all I can say is that I have been approached by some really big names and I am excited to meet them and discuss the future prospects. Also, I can confidently say that my next project will be more acting oriented. It’ll be exciting to explore another aspect of myself, as acting is my other passion apart from dancing when it comes to the entertainment industry,” shares Lauren. Though Lauren has done some acting in the West and is known for her roles in CSI, Glee and Disaster Movie among others she feels that she will have to start afresh here. “I have had training back home but acting in Bollywood is a different ball game altogether because of the difference in culture, language and even the style of filming. Before starting with ABCD, I had just one week with a dialogue coach and I only knew what I was saying during the filming unaware of dialogues of my co-stars. Though I am proud that I did a whole movie without knowing the language, I want to be able to converse with everyone in my next project.” Though many media publications reported that she was the winner of ‘So you think you can dance ’(a dance reality show in US), she comes clean and says that she was eliminated before the finale. “It was misreported in one place and then it just snowballed from there. I never said that I won the competition. I am a very honest person and it was really embarrassing for me when that happened. I never made it to the finale in ‘So you think you can dance’, so being in the finale of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa was like a full circle for me,” she concludes.
