The high rise is here!
These waist clinching high rise trousers are perfect for a sleeker silhouette!
The fashion runway makes and breaks trends. This season, waist clinching high rise trousers are sashaying on the runway, and they are clearly rocking the ramp. Sleeker and streamlined, the beauty of it is how it fits just as easily in formal as it does in informal surrounds. Bollywood starlets like Kartina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Sameera Reddy and Prachi Desai flaunt the high-rises with such flair, experimenting with the trend in their own unique way.
What makes this a fashion choice of many is how it fits on to any body shape. Designer Ranjeetha Sundhar says, “Personally, this is one of my favourites this season. This very comfortable trend is perfect for people who are on the go. It exudes high end fashion and gives a sleeker look. It should be a go to for anyone aiming to look taller and thinner. It makes the torso appear smaller, and gives the illusion of longer legs.”
There is also an evergreen quality to the look which designer Riya Kodali feels, “Will stay for a little longer as I don’t see it going away anytime soon because it definitely lends class to the whole silhouette - longer body, slimmer legs, tiny waist and a taller illusion.” Over doing it might be a buzzkill so the advice is quite simple. “A high waist pant with a tucked in top and a long jacket is my personal favourite, as it gives one the liberty to experiment with complementing colours without worrying about going overboard,” suggests designer Shriya Joshi. Make the trend your own by experimenting with it. Ranjeetha adds, “These high rises come in lot of designs. From embellished trousers, buttons and embroidery. Wearing such patterns add to the attire and removes the need to wear additional accessories.”
With every trend, comes some must-do’s and complete “no-no’s.” “Wearing a high rise with tucked in tops/shirts, crops is a must do. Pair these trousers with anything that is comfortable. Long jackets will give a different dimension to your look. Avoid really blousy tops, layered tank tops, ruffle tops and off shoulder bed ruffles.” As to the accessories Riya advises, “Accessorising depends on the kinda look and styling you opt for. If it’s formal, accessorise minimally. If it’s informal and more experimental, then you can accessorise it as per the look demands, play with dramatic jewellery.” Ranjeetha stress on the fact that while sporting this trend, one should focus more on the the type of shoes you wear rather than the neck line. Bracelets also go perfectly with this trend.
