Dressing up for a party, brunch or wedding can be such a blast, right? Especially with the trend of bright colours this season. What we mean is make-up in the brightest of colours is being used subtly, to bring the 80s essence back. One can experiment with bright eyeshadow palettes and crazy lips colours you would have never thought of trying. Colours like burgundy, purple, green, teal, duochromes are the rage, read on.

 How to get the look

  • Start by applying a concealer all over the eyelids, all the way to the brow. Blend it well, and set it using a loose powder.
  • Use a fluffy blending brush, and start applying a neutral soft brown shade over the socket, blending it all over to the outer corner of the eyes.
  • Apply a darker brown on top and blend it well into the socket and outer corner in a C-shape, near the lash line.
  • Apply a shimmery burgundy/cranberry shade all over the eyelids. You could use a little bit of gold glitter over the top to accentuate the eyes.
  • Apply kajal to the waterline, smudging it in between the lashes. This is a very easy way to get a smoked effect. Now, take the same blending brush and burgundy shade, go over the kajal of the bottom lashes to create a beautiful smokey look.
  • Add silver or gold to the inner corner.
  • With this eye look, it’s very important to have long feathery lashes. Curl lashes using a lash curler and apply two to three coats of mascara. You can also apply false eyelashes. Apply mascara to the bottom lashes as well.

Now, once your eyes are smoking hot, you can use this for the rest of the face — use a light foundation, keep under eyes bright, by using a brightening concealer, and set the area with powder. Apply a peach or pastel blush on the cheeks for a healthy glow. And for your lips, keep them neutral with a nude or light pink lipstick with lots of gloss!
