Anjalli Sukumaran, a blogger believes a pop of colour does the trick. “Adding a pop of colour somewhere to a nude outfit really makes a whole lot of a difference. Like the shoes or even painting your pout with a bright lipstick. My personal pick would be a nude crop top and a fitted skirt like a pencil skirt in a dark colour,” she says. For Aditi Bala, a fashion blogger and curator, it is all about making an impact with little show.
“To make a nude outfit work for you, ensure you expose your skin mindfully. A nude dress certainly gives a degree of nakedness. Features like a plunging neckline, short hemline, or open back must be aesthetically revealed. Going overboard with any of these will give out a trashy vibe. As a rule, if the outfit’s neckline is low, ensure the length of the dress is long enough to cover your knees. For dresses with short hemlines, a cover up on top is crucial.”
Designer Vrinda Gowda is of the opinion that nude outfits require a great deal of accessorising. “Pairing a nude dress with pastel coloured lightweight accessories is a stellar option to exude a dainty, feminine vibe. If you are wearing a nude dress with cutesy details like pleats and ruffles, settle for accessories in jet black, leather, or metal accents. That can be just the thing to help balance a look. Pairing a nude dress with brighter hues like red, green and electric blue is a great way to make your look pop and give it a sharp appeal. Nude looks stellar when paired against complementary shades of nude, hence creating a subtle, monochromatic color-block effect.”
