Rent your sartorial dream
If the thought of shelling out cash for your party wardrobe this season is giving you jitters, worry not.
While most of us dream of dressing up like celebrities, not all of us can afford the luxurious designer brands. Shops in the city are now offering designer clothing on rent at affordable prices to ensure that you can grab your own designer outfit without putting much of a dent in your wallet. Surbhi Gupta, whose Pali Hill-based store gets a fair amount of people coming in everyday, says, “It’s a great thing to see that people are willing to rent clothes for various functions. Most of our stock comes in from abroad. These clothes are exponentially expensive if bought.”
Mukesh Kumar, who also works at the store, adds that they get a number of models dropping in to grab an outfit for a photoshoot while Julie, who works at The Clothing Rental, another Bandra-based shop, says that she gets a number of people from the film industry dropping in. “It’s common for production houses to get outfits for their celeb clients. Having said that, the clothes are for everyone!”
