Dressed to the nines, Bhavna Pandey is a regular at most film premieres and social soirees in the city. Thanks to her husband Chunky Pandey, she has a loyal clout of B’townies on her friend list — something she hadn’t envisioned for herself when she graduated from Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College. “I thought I would pursue a typical degree in finance or chartered accountancy but life had different plans. After graduating, I decided to take a break and travel for a bit. I was a flight attendant with an airline when I met Chunky and never got back to working again in the same field,” she smiles.

Bhavna has now launched her own fashion label LoveGen with her close friends from the industry Dolly Sidhwani and Nandita Mahtani. “We have known each other for more than 15 years now and realised that we are on the same page when it comes to fashion. There is a serious dearth of affordable luxurious fashion in India and we aim to bridge that gap with our brand,” Bhavna shares.

Incidentally, Bhavna isn’t new in the field of luxury. She has had some deep-rooted associations with a few luxury brands. “It was during the early 2000’s when luxury brands were just coming in India. I started managing these brands and handled their event spaces. Back then only two things sold in India — cricket and Bollywood. Luxury was still trying to make a mark,” she adds.

As for her personal style, Bhavna doesn’t shy away from admitting that she loves shopping. “I’m someone who has always been interested in shopping. I love clothes more than I love bags and watches. I love bling; something with a hint of sexiness like low necks and tie-ups will also always have my attention,” she shrugs.

The lady also believes in striking a balance between her work and her personal life, “The fact that we have three of us working together eases the pressure, we plan our holidays in a way that there is at least one of us present to take care of the work.”

When not working, spending time with her family is what she enjoys the most. Her daughters are now 18 and 12 years of age. “Family time is precious and we often go out for dinner on weekends.  My youngest daughter hadn’t seen snow and we went skiing and also for an Alaskan cruise, it was very exciting. The next on our list is Spain,” she reveals.

Bhavna completes 20 years of marital bliss with Chunky. How has life been like, we ask. “He is a calming factor in my life and when things don’t work out, he is always there. Chunky likes his woman to be fiercely independent. He has a dark sense of humour and is also very stubborn. Both of us love to watch TV shows and make it a point to catch up on the latest shows and movies before retiring to bed each day,” she signs off.
