This summer all you need is a flowy, comfy, chic look for a day out with your girls or family. Here’s how you can ace your summer brunch look with the perfect and comfortable outfit. We speak to designers and get their mantra for a chic brunch look.

An informal meal is the perfect chance to go bold and try out new outfits. Showcase your style with striking colours, fun prints, unique designs and definitely funky accessories.  Laxmi Krishna, a designer says, “The appropriate fabrics for a brunch is pretty much any fabric that lies within your comfort be it chiffon, net, jeans, cotton, polyester or even nylon.  The look that I’d best prefer is a light flowing plain maxi and pair with nice statement belts or you can go wild and choose a nice printed maxi.”

If you are not someone for maxis and want to try a different look, Tanya Eldred Bhat, a fashion stylist opines, “I would suggest the best fabric is cotton or linen.  Opt for an asymmetric crop top, loose wide leg pants for a perfect brunch attire. You can go with a pair of wedges and statement jewellery. Do not wear synthetic fabric and of course ensure to carry a deodorant.”

Laxmi believes that no look is complete without acessories. She says, “Accessories should always add glory and value to the outfit. Either use minimal accessories for a casual girl-next-door look or go all out and wear layers around your neck to balance attention to your neck and shoulders. Use pearl necklaces, diamond pendants, gold, and rubies to create jewellery layers thereby making your brunch wear very trendy.

Nagarshree a designer believes that the best way to go for a brunch is to keep it cool, “Don’t go too over the top. Just be comfortable with whatever you are wearing. Go for loose and baggy clothes because you will definitely be treating yourself to a scrumptious meal and when you sit with a stuffed stomach you might find it difficult if you are in a tight fitted bodycon dress. Choosing loose silhouettes is the best option. I don’t think sequin is a good idea for a Sunday brunch look, a simple chic attire with no bling is appropriate.”

Here are a few things that Laxmi suggests you can avoid, “I would definitely not recommend pointed heels because flats are always a girl’s best friend, the makeup need not be bold and bright. It’s best if you go with a sober and simple day makeup.  Use bold accessories but don't use too many  or you can end up looking shabby, Don't go for plain colours preferably.”
