Fashion not for all!
Runway designs go innovative to the extent that netizens are finding it too hard to handle.
Runway designs capture the netizens attention for its quirkiness, lavishness or even weirdness. Recently, A graduate student from Central Saint Martins debuted a collection that made every jaw drop for its never-seen-before innovation.
Fredrik Tjaerandsen, Norwegian designer sparked this viral fashion moment. He sent models down the runway wearing huge colourful balloons that engulfed their entire bodies, which then deflated into structural dresses before bemused guests at the show. But why all these garments are seemingly unwearable and fail to have utilitarian appeal?
Ridham Gambhir, who works in a corporate firm, says, “I love fashion and new trending clothes. But I don’t find any practicality for these kinds of clothes. I cannot wear this in any party or in the office. Plus I don’t find these clothes very appealing”
In 2016, Zara also revealed its collection for sale by sharing ripped clothes on social media. The post instantly went viral, especially after veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s tweet “Buy two get one begging bowl free. Sale at Zara’s”. More than 1.5 lakh Twitterati re-tweeted this tweet.
Opposing the view, fashion designer Rohit Verma said, “ It is a show window where the designer often displays creativity. Such as a lot of top artists go with modern art, where they mix colours and abstract painting which has no meaning to it. But those painting are to convey the message to show the colour riot on the canvas. Simultaneously, we designers are displaying our collection, its all about the creativity to appeal to the crowd how creative the designer is. So fashion show is the main window to showcase that creativity. It is basically to show the artistic form of the designer.”However, the videos from Tjaerandsen’s show garnered the attention of the fashion industry and celebrities. to which they twitted and Demi Moore also commented, “That is some crazy sh—!!”. While, Lindsay Lohan commented “A bit weird but cool.”
Fashion designer, Charu Parashar, expressed, “We as creative people and designers take the ramp as our stage where we can present our most creative artistic form of ensembles. Therefore the ramp is the presentation of our inner most creative outburst. A designer is an artist in a way who weaves a story around collection. We create collection round the clock for our clients which have only has commercial looks, but during our shows we want to express innovation excellence brilliance and creativeness which breaks all boundaries hence the many of the show garments are don’t have utilitarian appeal.”
