A flowery touch to your outfit
Classic roseprints in various hues are the current rage this season. But it is important to get the look right, say experts.
After a rather dull winter, though we absolutely loved the trends, we need a fresh approachf when it comes to fashion. We want something that is light, breezy, simple and elegant. Florals or rose prints are classic and season designers are ensuring they are making the best of it. With florals back this season, we expect it to be fun and cheery.
Designer Gautham Gupta who considers a rose to a be a very classic motif shares, “Floral designs are pleasing to the eye and they bring happiness. Seeing the environment around such art is needed. When it comes to styling, there is no one parameter. A lot depends upon the silhouettes, cuts and also the purpose for which the outfit is worn.”
With this print, the opportunity to experiment is endless. Pointing this out is designer Archita , who says, “There is so much you can do with rose prints. You can develop prints in a different way and break the monotony of the print.”
While assembling the look, one has to be extra cautious. Archita adds, “A crop top and skirt with the print only on the top paired with choker or even big studs will be a nice look. Jackets as well in a rose print will make quite a statement is designed nicely and teamed with a plain top and pant.”
But, it is important not to go overboard as you will end up looking like wallpaper. Sharing a few styling tips is ace designer Archana Kocchar who would like florals in small doses. She suggests, “I would love to use it as the lining and have a transparent or sheer fabric on top so that it peeps through. You use a part of your look as it adds value to the garment but does not overpower it.”
When following fashion trends, it is important to know when to stop. Archana adds, “Following trends is the norm with fashion conscious people today. Fashionistas who are interested in looking good should invest time in figuring trends that work for them. Then, every new trend that comes should be fused with those trends.”
If you’re not one to cover yourselves with flowers, you can opt for floral accessories as well. “Florals on bags looks really great but on shoes not so much. You will have a difficult time creating a look around floral shoes. What you can do is to buy two scarfs with a floral prints. One can go on your head like a headband and the other can be tied on your bag so that it gives the look balance.” she concludes.
