How often have you caught yourself complaining  about running out of clothes while staring at a spilling wardrobe? The problem here is not a shortage of clothes but having used a particular style way too many times.

The one solution to this problem is  creating different looks with the already existing clothes.

Fashion expert Prasad Bidapa, when asked to comment about creating newer styles on a lower budget opined that, “Up cycling is the new buzzword, where you take out older clothes in excellent condition and make a few alterations to improve them and then wear it in new ways. Another way to recycle clothes is by creating an exchange group with friends to swap saris and clothes and thus acquire new stuff without spending. Upcycle or kill the Earth and ourselves along with it!”

Senior fashion stylist at an e-commerce fashion portal, Pious John, who also runs a blog under the name, Adampallil says, “One issue faced by most people is deciding what to wear. A good amount of time goes in just staring at your wardrobe everyday figuring out what to wear. Days like these, play your fashion right by going minimal. You could probably do a mix n match and still pull it off making a statement.”

The model has paired a black blouse with a multi coloured skirt.

There is certainly no doubt about the fact that the best way to stay in style is by experimenting with your looks. The need to burn a hole in your pocket looking for new clothes to stay fashionable is a thing of the past. Fashion stylist Varsha Harlalkar says, “It is important for you to own fashion and not allow fashion to own you.”

She adds, “I always believe in versality and experimenting with my clothes; be it a scarf, a trouser or an old jacket. I don’t like repeating the same looks too often and the option of pairing my clothes with multiple others always helps. Blacks, whites, neutral and denims are some of the most common colours you find in your wardrobe and these are all you need to create your own look.”

A great way to bling up your partywear is to add a crystal belt.

Accessorising your look is as important as pairing the right clothes. Even with a colour like black, one of those go-to colours, which serves as a base for any other colour it is important to not over accessorise.

“You can wear gold, silver or metallic accessories with a black outfit but never mix them all up. Keep it simple and make sure you don’t overdo it. For example, you cannot wear an oversized earring and a necklace together. It overshadows each other. If you want to wear an oversized earring you can preferable pair it with multiple bangles”, says fashion lifestyle blogger, Ashwathi Balakrishnan.

Tips by Prasad Bidapa
A black top/tee shirt/ tunic is a must have in every person’s wardrobe and there are multiple ways you can wear it in to match your needs.
1) Pair it with ripped jeans, high heels, a long earring or a neck piece and you have for yourself a party look.
2) Pair it with straight cut trousers (preferable of lighter/nude shade), throw on a stole, and a shoe of your choice for a formal look.
3) Pair it with a multi colour, flared, full length skirt add a jhumka, chunk of bangles and you are good to go for a family event.
4) Wear it with a pleated black sheer 3/4th skirt, brogues with printed /laced sock and a hat. A quirky look to make your day quirky-ful.”
