Cosmetic surgeries have been around for a while now. Unlike a couple of decades ago, people aren’t shying away from taking the surgical route to achieve great skin, hair or an enviable body.  Some of the most commonly demanded corrections are for sagging skin, breast surgeries and nose fixes. However, the fact remains that most people are apprehensive of undergoing the knife, fearing  needle stings.

Thanks to advances in medical science, a breakthrough in skin anti-ageing treatment called Ultherapy has arrived. Allegedly, Hollywood celebrities such as Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Kim Kardashian and the like are vouching by this ‘no-knife’ therapy.

Also referred to as the 'lunch-time lift', Ultherapy is a mere 60-90 minute procedure, which does not involve  fillers or toxins. It merely sends ultrasound waves underneath the skin. This causes contraction and forms elastic fibres, which rejuvenate the skin. Ultherapy relies on the body's own collagen-building process for natural and noticeable results. As it uses sound waves, it is also considered safe for diabetics and those suffering from immune problems.

Today, Ultherapy is done over 55 countries.  Around 40 scientific papers have been published on the procedure. More than twice that number of scientific lectures have also been delivered at various platforms.

Improvements from the treatment continue for six months. The overall effect lasts for upto two years, after which you may need to go in for another session.  And justifiably so, as you have become two and a half years older too!

One of the biggest pluses of ultherapy is that smaller areas like jawline and neck, eye bags, improved position of eyebrows can be targeted easily to give best results. For a visibly glowing and younger looking skin, intensive care is required both internally and externally. Especially, after crossing 30s this process requires extra effort to combat the signs of ageing.

The procedure is recommended for those between 35 and 60 with early signs of laxity. These patients see results within three to six months with a single treatment. Patients over the age of 60 may require a second treatment in six months.

With a host of benefits over other procedures, Ultherapy is a safe technique which gives a great natural looking result. Do give it a shot, but make sure you choose a physician who is qualified and properly trained to perform this procedure.
