Oak cased 50-year-old Macallan whiskey
The drink is described to have an aroma of sweet oak vanilla and blackcurrant characters with amber natural colour.
With the aim of conquering the mounting whiskey market and give whiskey lovers their ultimate delight, The Macallan, a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie is ready to release a 50-year-old whisky. The alcohol is aged in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Spain and is priced at £25,000 (Rs 22,75,953.41).
There are only 200 bottles available worldwide and 35 are in the United States for $35,000 (Rs 22,74,125). The drink is described to have an aroma of sweet oak vanilla and blackcurrant characters with amber natural colour.
If this was not enough for whiskey lovers, the distillery has also announced that they will be restoring their core range on whiskey including the 1824 series. To our surprise, the series was categorised by ‘colours’ (gold, amber, sienna, and ruby) – which wasn’t much popular with whiskey lovers.
