Exchange books for coffee at this Mumbai coffee shop
For next 4 weeks, Poetry by Love & Cheesecake, Kala Ghoda will offer complimentary cup of coffee to patrons who donate children's books.
Mumbai: Kala Ghoda has long been considered the epicentre of culture, literature and art in Mumbai. But more than any academic or professional pursuit, this historic locale embodies the spirit of acceptance that the city is known for.
Located at Kala Ghoda, Poetry by Love & Cheesecake has started a new initiative called #TheCoffeExchange. According to them, it is a campaign that aims to warm hands and hearts.
Speaking about it, Ruchyeta Bhatia, Founder, Poetry by Love & Cheesecake said, “With our newest baby nestled in the loving arms of one of Kala Ghoda’s bylanes, Poetry by Love & Cheesecake has been showered with positivity beyond measure. As we have come to realise the ease with which this community embraced us, we have been pondering the best way to show our appreciation. In the pursuit of serving our customers as well as society at large, we would like to introduce #TheCoffeeExchange.”
For the next four weeks, Poetry by Love & Cheesecake, Kala Ghoda will be offering a complimentary cup of coffee to all patrons who donate children’s storybooks. At the end of the month, all the books collected will be sent to the Salaam Bombay Foundation to further their mission of child empowerment through education.
“As a team, we feel deeply about any cause relating to children. Amit Sharma, my partner and COO has a 5-year old daughter himself and this cause in particular is very personal for us”. "We wanted to give back in whatever way we could, the response so far has been overwhelming and we hope to gain more support over the coming few weeks, added Bhatia.
Rohit Sharma, Salaam Bombay Foundation added, "This is a wonderful initiative and we are happy to be associated with it, through this drive, children who are unable to afford books will gain access to them. They can study and learn something new, When people come forward and support these kind of drives, it motivates us to do more for children belonging to underprivileged homes" adds, Rohit Sharma, Salaam Bombay Foundation
#TheCoffeeExchange is valid from Monday to Friday started 18th June, between 4pm and 7pm at Poetry by Love & Cheesecake, Kala Ghoda.
