Some injuries or physical deformities can prove life altering for people leaving them unable to perform even the most basic tasks. But thanks to innovative procedures, most people in such conditions can receive required assistance.

In a similar surgery carried out in UAE, doctors successfully replaced a toddler’s malformed thumb using her index finger. The two-year-old girl who struggled to use her right hand due to the deformity was able to get complete control of the hand following the operation.

The child was born without a bone in her thumb and the successful procedure helped protect the child from a lifetime of struggle. The girl’s mother expressed gratitude as she said that the development will prevent psychological issues in future.
