Mental health is a crucial part of overall well being which has become a major cause for concern with changes in lifestyle over the years. Pregnancy is an important experience for many but it comes with its fair share of complications and stress.

Research has revealed that millennial women are 50 percent more likely to be depressed during pregnancy than their mothers. The reason for this is a fast paced lifestyle along with added pressure from social media.

The trend is a part of a general increase in risk of depression among young women in the past few years. But pregnancy amplifies the pressures people face in modern life.

The number of mothers working has increased and the work pressures as well as inflexible work arrangements are linked to depressive symptoms. Social media also leads to anxiety among pregnant women.
