Teenager's hand grows to weigh 5 kg due to rare condition
The ordeal started with a tumour in Rajib's hand which developed when he was just 3 months old.
Having bulging biceps and well built arms is something fitness enthusiasts across the world dream of. But for some things may not always come as they would want and such rare conditions can leave them in constant agony making life a struggle every single day.
19-year-old Rajib Gain from Bangladesh suffers from a disorder which has caused his hand to grow to an extent that it weighs five kilos. It all started when a tumour took shape in his arm when he was three months old and has now left the teen with claws for fingers.
While the condition may have been different with a timely diagnosis, failure to pursue it has led to a situation where the tumour spread to Rajib’s leg and back, leaving him unable to walk, sleep or even change clothes.
The boy who wants to get a job and support his father after treatment has to keep his hand on his head so that he can maintain balance while walking since his body can’t take excessive weight on one side. The health department in Bangladesh took notice of Rajib’s ordeal after his uncle posted pictures on social media and promised help.
Meanwhile Rajib has continued his studies and is hopeful that his ordeal will come to an end since he has been asked to meet doctors who will help cure the condition.
