Ageless and skintillating
40s and above: Start using richer moisturisers with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, no more chemical exfoliators
Ageless beauty is often mistaken for something it’s not, focusing only on anti-aging or products for dull-dehydrated skin. But the truth is far from it yet, it is all-inclusive. Every year our skin grows and changes, and with each change there are distinct and different skin concerns and ageless beauty is about tackling all and any of these issues without a skip in our stride. As the concept of ageless beauty is becoming more accepted, and known within the beauty industry we have a vast array of brands and products to choose from to address all and any skin concerns. Skincare and make-up always go hand in hand — no amount of make-up can make up the lack of skin health.
In your 20s: Try products with niacin for reducing and preventing redness, hyperpigmentation and skin texture. Ingredients like Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and peptides help. Do your research and see what works! Your 20s are a time to experiment, and finding signature style.
In your 30s: AHA and BHA may sound like a 80s pop band but they can help smoothen and refine skin. You can try peels and glycolic acids too but remember to moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! In your 30s, you can look for make-up products that provide you with a skincare boost.
40s and above: Start using richer moisturisers with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, no more chemical exfoliators — go for gentler exfoliation now. Invest in a retinoid-based eye cream and slap on a night cream. This age requires more definition, incorporating a five minute make-up routine!
