Boy survives as screw lodged in his skull stops millimeter short of bleeding him to death
The teenager was left with a six-inch screw lodged in his head when he fell while trying to build a tree house.
Terrible accidents can at times take place in the most unexpected situations and a lot of them end in tragedies. But sometimes people miraculously survive despite injuries that seem to be fatal in nature.
After the case of a boy surviving with a skewer piercing through his heart, now another child has avoided death by just a millimeter. The teenager was left with a six-inch screw lodged in his head when he fell while trying to build a tree house.
Fortunately the screw stopped a millimeter away from draining fluids from his brain which could have resulted in him bleeding to death. The wooden plank that landed on his head was cut so that Darius could fit in a helicopter as he was airlifted to a hospital.
An emergency surgery was carried out to remove the screw from the 13-year-old’s head. The two hour surgery also involved removing bone fragments and a blood clot.
