Anxiety is a major health concern for a large number of people across the globe with many looking for ways to tackle the condition. Certain activities are known to make people forget worries and can prove instrumental in easing anxiety.

Tetris has been a popular game for a long time and it turns out that it can also be effective in relaxing a worried mind. It induces a state of flow which makes the rest of the world fall away as time passes fast.

Students were told they would be rated based on physical attractiveness as part of research and then asked to play Tetris. While the ratings were only meant to make them uncomfortable, scientists found that the game did actually work for soothing their mind.

This also means that other activities like chess, yoga, sports and other video games can be effective in reducing anxiety as well.
