Apart from being a nuisance mosquitoes are also known to carry several diseases which can also be fatal. People in different parts of the world try various measures to resist these pests but there hasn’t been any lasting solution.

Now Google has come out with its own plan which hopes to rid the world of this issue once and for all. The firm is releasing millions of engineered Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes in Fresno after infecting them with bacteria that may kill the mosquito population in the region.

The engineered mosquitoes will try to mate with females in the area and the bacteria will cause them to produce dud eggs. This process is aimed at eventually killing off the population of mosquitoes by making females sterile.
