While tumours in the body can make life painful for people, often they aren’t detected and can have bizarre consequences. Several cases of abdominal pain turning out to be more serious ailments have been reported in the past few years.

60-year-old Arati Adhikari was rushed to the hospital with bloating and abdominal pain as doctors decided to conduct scans. They found two massive tumours weighing 30 kg on both of her ovaries.

It took a surgery lasting for hours to cut out the tumours which took up 80 percent of her abdomen. She is recovering after the operation and is expected to be discharged in a week.

The size of the tumours causing a bloated belly made it difficult for Arati to walk as they caused pressure on her intestines, liver and diaphragm leading to breathing issues.
