Is your pet a party animal?
After hosting successful annual events in Delhi and Kolkata, the pet carnival is making its way to Mumbai.
Amidst several instances of animal cruelty, Akshay Gupta founded Pet Fed to spread and share the love people have for animals. After hosting successful annual events in Delhi and Kolkata, the pet carnival is making its way to Mumbai.
“We just hosted our biggest edition in Delhi in December — the enthusiasm people share for animals is overwhelming. We saw over 25,000 people attending the carnival and more than 3,000 pets,” Akshay gleams over the phone.
Pet Fed is making its way to Mumbai, and to mark this important step, they are hosting a launch party. The evening will host animal lovers, pets and their parents indulging them in various activities. Giving us an insight into what will go down through the evening, Akshay gives us an entire list. “To celebrate our Mumbai chapter, we are having a small party for pets (cats, dogs, rabbits — doesn’t matter), their parents and people associated with us. Basically, there will be a several games for the pets; there will be interaction sessions with vets and trainers. And, obviously, some beer and food,” he says. The founder quickly mentions that everything is on the house and that the evening will be like “a small, three-hour doggy brunch, in a way.” Akshay says there are no reservations on who can come and who cannot. “Everyone is invited to the party regardless of having a pet or not,” he shrugs.
Pet Fed is not just about partying. Talking about the social initiatives they undertake, Akshay sheds light on their partners, “World for All is our NGO partner in Mumbai. All our social initiatives are taken by them (since they are more experienced, we try our best to support them). They take up the initiatives and we help them with every aspect of welfare of stray animals care — from adoption camps and rescue operations, to raising money for star animals’ welfare, sterilisation — everything.” Further pointing out, “They are going to be there too.” Spend some quality time with your pet this Sunday.
