Winter is upon us
With fog rolling up each morning, it is no mystery that winter has finally arrived in the capital.
Winter in Delhi is a beauty to behold. From steaming cappuccinos to the warm hugs of comfy sweaters, the season comes as a blessing in disguise. It is a lovely getaway from the humid air of the Delhi summers. . The national capital looks absolutely stunning, foggy and dark during this time of the year.
For the past few two months, Delhi was also suffering from poor air quality. But recently, the air quality index in Delhi-NCR has also improved for the first time in months.
Nandini Agarwal, a 21-years-old Delhiiite says, “Winter provides a much-needed respite from the Dilli ki garmi. It’s a great opportunity to take out our best coats and flaunt the winter fashion while gorging on gajar ka halwa and other delicacies of this weather.”
This is probably the best time to visit Delhi for one wants to experience the infamous “Dilli ki Sardi’!
For Vidushi, a working woman, awaits this season every year. “With hot chocolates and cappuccinos to warm my numbly cold fingers when outside, I am super pumped about the winters and I hope it lasts longer this time as well.”
Aditi Sing, another young voice, lets us in on a secret. “I love winter because I love laying wrapped up in the blanket and having hot coffee. Also in winter, you don’t need to take a shower every day! I just wish to be surrounded with warmth, serene and peace.”
Sakshi Jain, a student says that she simply loves winter weather because she enjoys the much-awaited cold. “One of the most wonderful feelings in life is stepping out of your warm and relaxed house and feeling a howling blast of cool air hit you right in the face. It actually takes your breath away and makes every sense in your body so alive. But when it gets really, really, cold it looks like you are transited to a one-of-a-kind different world.”
