Adopted woman finds out her neighbour was actually her long lost sister

Several heart warming stories have been born out of an individual’s quest to find long lost family members. But sometimes such journeys can take an unexpected turn.

31-year-old Hillary Harris was adopted when she was a baby along with her brother in 1987. She decided that she wanted to track down her biological relatives when she was pregnant in 2011.

She was heartbroken to find out that her father had died in 2002 but found out about two half sisters from his obituary. She tried finding them on Facebook but that didn’t help until in June 2017 a woman named Dawn moved in next door with her partner.

Hillary found out that Dawn was from the same place where her half sister lived and later saw her surname on a package. She later asked Dawn who her father was and realised that they had the same father.

On meeting her biological mother, Hillary found out that she and her brother were born out of an affair. Her brother Tyler was initially reluctant to meet Dawn, but later agreed.
